'AICP's The RTO Standards Unpacked! is a comprehensive professional development course designed to give your compliance staff everything they need to ensure your RTO's compliance needs are met.

The course has been designed by Alex Schroder, Australia’s leading Sanction Management Specialist, Forensic Compliance Auditor and Administrative Appeals Tribunal Specialist. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a qualified lawyer. As a member of the inaugural ASQA Stakeholder Liaison Group (SLG), which is made up of RTO providers and VET sector consultants focused on advising ASQA on the expansion and continuous improvement of its regulatory engagement and education, Alex serves on a number of SLG subgroups focused on self-assurance, audit practices, online learning in the VET sector, and VET delivered to secondary school students.

The importance of compliance

In a highly-regulated VET sector, your RTO's compliance with the NVR Act, the Standards for RTOs and the various other laws and regulations is critical. Ensure your RTO's compliance

This component goes more in-depth than Component 1 of the course and explains in detail how to use the Standards in the management of your RTO's compliance systems.

This course component should be undertaken by anyone who has an interest in RTO Compliance management, and specifically:
• Compliance officers
• Compliance managers
• Senior RTO management
• RTO owners
• Compliance Consultants


Rectification Strategies for Success

This component goes more in-depth than Components 1 and 2 of the course. In this component, we look at how to rectify the most common non-compliances identified by the Regulator.

This course component should be undertaken by anyone who has an interest in RTO Compliance management and the rectification of non-compliances, and specifically:
• Compliance managers
• Senior RTO management
• RTO owners
• Compliance Consultants

Overview:

A large number of Clauses within the Standards for RTOs interact with one another and without a comprehensive understanding of each clause and the relationship between the various clauses, your effectiveness as a compliance practitioner is limited. In this component, we unpack the Standards to a practical level where the meanings and interpretations of each Standard/Clause are explained for everyday use.

This course component will enable you to:

• understand the full meaning of the clauses in the Standards for RTOs
• understand how the various clauses in the Standards for RTOs are interlinked
• determine how each clause within the Standards for RTOs is interpreted for ongoing compliance
• identify the compliance requirements of each clause in the Standards for RTOs
• identify the full application of each clause of the Standards for RTOs
• identify the correlation between the various clauses and standards within the Standards for RTOs
• implement the Standards for RTOs in your RTO’s day-to-day operations

As a professional development course, there are no written assessment activities in this course. We do however provide you with True/False and multiple choice questions to confirm your understanding of the course material.
Once you have completed the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Who developed this course

The RTO Standards Unpacked! course was specifically developed by RTO Compliance Guru Alex Schroder.
Alex is the CEO of VETPrep Australia and Australia's leading Sanction Management and Tribunal expert. She is legally qualified and holds qualifications in law, business, management, marketing, training and education and compliance, and developed the CIV in RTO Compliance and the Diploma of RTO Compliance Management courses.

Will I receive a certificate at the end of the course?

Yes, once you have completed the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

What happens if the Standards change after I've enrolled in the course?

You will have access to your course material and the included resources for 6months from the time of your course enrolment. Should the Standards change during this period, you will automatically have access to the updated course material on the Standards. This will ensure that you are able to access any updates to the Standards if you commence the course within 6 months of any updates to the Standards.

Is this the same boring stuff that all the other compliance consultants charge a fortune for?

Absolutely not!
